Diagnose before you buy

Common symptoms and what usually causes them

You do not need a part number to call us. Describe what the machine is doing and we will help you narrow it down — buying the right part once is cheaper than buying two.

Common golf cart parts symptoms and likely causes
Symptom Where we would look first
Cart clicks but will not move Solenoid, nine times out of ten. Test it before you replace a controller — a controller costs many times more.
No click at all when you press the pedal Micro switch, throttle sensor (MCOR/ITS), or the F&R switch.
Cart runs slow and dies on hills Weak battery pack or corroded cables. Load-test each battery individually before condemning the motor.
Gas cart cranks but will not start Fuel pump or carburetor. Ethanol-blend fuel destroys carburetor diaphragms on carts that sit.
Charger will not turn on On Club Car with OBC, the on-board computer is a frequent failure point. Charger receptacle contacts are the other.
Grinding or dragging in the rear Brake shoes worn to the rivets, or a seized brake cable holding partial engagement.

General guidance only. Always follow the manufacturer's service manual and lock out equipment before working on it.

Why buy from us

A family shop with a global catalog behind it

Herb Grady Company has been supplying parts in Southern California since 1973 — today from Lake Elsinore. Four generations of the same family, an authorized TVH catalog, and an overhead structure lean enough that the savings reach you instead of a corporate margin target.

  • Family owned and operated

Herb Grady started this company in 1973. It passed to his son, then to his granddaughter Renee Heipley, who runs it today — with the fourth generation already in the building. That is why we still know which parts last and which ones come back.

  • Service that answers the phone

You get a person who knows material handling equipment, not a queue position. We help you diagnose before you buy, we tell you honestly when a part is backordered, and we call you back when we say we will.

  • Low overhead, passed straight through

We are not carrying a national sales force, a showroom or a marketing department. Our cost structure is lean on purpose, and the difference shows up on your invoice instead of somebody's quarterly target.

Straight answers

Golf Cart Parts: your questions answered

How do I know if my golf cart solenoid is bad?
With the key on and the cart in forward, press the pedal. A healthy solenoid makes a distinct single click. No click means the coil, the micro switch or the throttle input has failed. A click with no movement means the contacts inside the solenoid are burned — power is not passing through. A solenoid is one of the least expensive parts on the cart and one of the most common failures, so it is always worth testing first.
Do you carry parts for older Club Car DS and E-Z-GO TXT carts?
Yes. Those platforms ran for decades and the aftermarket supports them thoroughly — often better than the dealer network does at this point. Tell us the model year and whether it is 36V or 48V (or gas), and we will get you the right part.
Can I get a whole battery pack and charger through you?
Yes — deep-cycle flooded lead-acid packs, AGM, and lithium conversions, plus matching chargers, cables and hold-down hardware. Battery packs are heavy freight, so call for a delivered price rather than assuming online listings include shipping.
Are you a golf cart repair shop?
We are a parts supplier, not a service shop. We will help you diagnose the problem over the phone so you buy the right part once, and we are happy to point you toward a good local technician if you would rather someone else turn the wrenches.
Do you sell to golf courses and fleet operators?
Yes, and fleet volume is where our low-overhead pricing shows up most clearly. If you are maintaining a fleet of 40 carts, the difference between our price and a dealer price on solenoids, brake shoes and batteries is a line item you will notice at the end of the year.
